SHOW LOW β A Show Low police officer has died after being shot outside a fast-food restaurant in the city and the suspect remains at large.
Show Low police say Darrin Reed was taken to a hospital after Tuesday afternoon's shooting and later died from his injuries.
Authorities say Reed was shot about 1:30 p.m. and the motive for the shooting isn't immediately clear
Police have identified the suspect as 36-year-old Daniel Erickson and say he was seen leaving a Show Low hotel in a vehicle.
They say Erickson was dressed in a long, dark trench coat and reportedly armed with a handgun.
Police say the car Erickson drove from the scene was found Tuesday evening and he's believed to be driving another vehicle.
Show Low is in Navajo County in east-central Arizona.
