Kristopher Ashley, Amanda Davis

A Cochise County couple was arrested at the end of December after a month-long investigation into methamphetamine being sold from their apartment, officials said.

On Dec. 21, members of the Cochise County Sheriff's Office street crimes unit served a search warrant at the Westwood Village Apartments, on a unit belonging to Kristopher Ashley and Amanda Davis, said sheriff's office spokeswoman Carol Capas.

Inside the apartment, detectives found "for-sale" quantities of methamphetamine, scales and cash, along with the couple's 3-week-old child, Capas said.

Ashley was arrested and booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse.

Davis was arrested, questioned and released, but the sheriff's office is pursuing charges and will submit the case to the Cochise County Attorney's Office, Capas said.
