Winds are expected to blow across Tucson Friday with gusts reaching up to 25 mph, forecasters say.

It'll be windier in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and the eastern Santa Cruz counties, with gusts reaching up to 35 mph, the National Weather Service in Tucson says.

The strongest wind gusts in the region could reach up to 50 mph.

A wind advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today for Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and eastern portions of Santa Cruz counties.

A cold front moving into the region will bring a chance of rain today in the area, including metro Tucson, the forecast says. There's even a light snow on the White Mountains and Mt. Graham, the weather service said.

And near-freezing morning temperatures are possible near Sonoita and Benson this weekend.

The cooler weather won't last long.

Temperatures "well above normal" are back next week, the forecast says. Beginning Tuesday, Tucson's high temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s.
