Snow covered the tops of the Rincon Mountains in January. It could return to them Monday night, but don't expect this view on Tuesday.

It's possible that the high temperature in Tucson will hit 100 degrees Thursday and/or Friday, followed by snow.

Snow?

Yep. The National Weather Service forecast for higher elevations across Arizona now includes the slight possibility of snow showers overnight on Monday.

"We definitely have a pretty active weather pattern going on," said meteorologist Rob Howlett of the National Weather Service in Tucson.

The ridge of high pressure that could produce triple digits in Tucson Thursday and Friday will be quickly pushed out by a low-pressure storm front Friday night.

The weekend will be breezier and cooler, with valley temperatures dropping into the 40s overnight Sunday and a slight chance of showers Monday and Tuesday.

Higher elevations across Arizona, including the nearby Rincon and Santa Catalina Mountains, have a 10 percent chance of showers, thunderstorms or snow showers overnight Monday, according to the Weather Service.
