In Vienna, balls are back with a bang after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus. More than 450 are held every year in the capital and every professional body has its own. A tradition dating back to the 18th century – and loved by the Viennese, who have been waiting impatiently to get back to waltzing. FRANCE 24's Vianey Lorin went to the Confectioners Ball in a palace that once belonged to the Habsburgs.
