I am reminded daily of William Shirer's prediction in "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" that while Hitler was elected with 32% of the German vote, it would happen in the United States with 52% of the vote. Shirer's prediction was somewhat off because it's happening here with less than 50% of the vote.
