Biden allocated $53B in federal subsidies to boost U.S. semiconductor production and research emphasizing public-private partnerships to incentivize companies like TSMC and INTEL.

Trump’s strategy relies on coercion via tariffs to drive private investment from those same economically and strategically critical corporations with little emphasis on direct government funding.

These are two polarized ideologies but America has only one economy and in either case, Arizona is a double winner. Trump can’t stop Biden’s taxpayer spending by executive order because it’s legislatively approved and Trump’s $100B+ successful chokehold on TSMC and others is just double icing on the cake.

We Tucsonans congratulate Phoenix, Chandler, and Peoria on their economic prowess and hope that some of your success will trickle down to Tucson where we are focused on whether or not bus rides are free.
