The Star came out with an Opinion stating that the ban on federal gun violence research, which would be funded by Congress, should end. Why do we need to study gun violence at the federal level? States and private institutions are free to conduct whatever studies they want. It is the anti-2nd Amend. left, like the Star, whose real intent is to have some study done by the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) to issue findings that guns are a national threat, which would be used to implement gun control legislation. In 1993, Dr. Mark Rosenberg, of the CDC, said that the Clinton administration wanted to "reframe the debate" about gun control to portray guns as a public health menace. Dr. Katherine Christoffel, head of the CDC funded Handgun Epidemic Lowering Plan, previously stated that "guns are a virus that must be eradicated. Get the plan here?
