Iran War: Pentagon Reveals 140 Troops Injured So Far, 8 Severely

A Pentagon official has revealed that approximately 140 US service members have been wounded in the Israel-US war on Iran, which has resulted in seven deaths so far. In a statement, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said that the majority of those wounded sustained minor injuries, with 108 already back on duty. Parnell also noted that eight service members are severely wounded and “receiving the highest level of medical care.” The most recent US military fatality was Army Sgt. Benjamin Pennington, who died from injuries after an attack in Saudi Arabia. The other six were killed in a drone strike in Kuwait. Defense officials have previously described the number of wounded as fewer than a dozen, noting that these are the most seriously injured. These injury figures highlight the growing threat of Iranian drones and missiles, which have attacked US bases across the Middle East. While Parnell did not specify the types of injuries, it’s likely, given the nature of the attacks, that they include shrapnel injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Parnell’s statement comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and President Donald Trump recently declared that large portions of the Iranian military have been destroyed. General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters that Iranian ballistic missile attacks have fallen by 90% since the conflict began, along with a 90% drop in drone attacks.
