Re: The last time Tucson celebrated a white Christmas was in 1987.

Jeri Ferguson Jahnke: It was my Wisconsin husband’s first Christmas in Tucson, and he and the cacti and palm trees looked very surprised. Tucson is magic.

Mark Templeton: My mom was born on Christmas Day and always wished to see it snow on her birthday. She died on New Year’s Eve 1986 and the following Christmas on her birthday it snowed like crazy, and we all took it as a sign from her and God.

LynnDee Bradley: I remember driving home from work at 7:30 in this. What a beautiful day it was.

Linda Voelkers McCurdy: We just moved to Tucson the end of October, and it was my first Christmas away from my family in Oklahoma. I was feeling pretty sad but the beautiful snow on Christmas morning made it β€œall better”! They had a terrible ice storm in OK so actually none of my family was able to get together that year!

Marilyn Stoeckig: I remember this! Once in a lifetime, perhaps!

Linda Nowland: This snow was so dramatic it was on the news in Europe.

Theresa Young-Jirschele: My husband and I went to midnight Mass, and when we came out it was snowing. That was

our first Christmas together.

Estella R. Hernandez: I remember that day so clearly. … Can’t remember what happened last week, but I know where I was on that day it snowed in Tucson.

Kendra Gogle: I got a bicycle that year … didn’t get to ride it till the next day.

Jerry Hadaway: I do remember. A week later it was 80 degrees.
