For the second time in as many days, a Pima College basketball star has been named to an All-America team. 

Freshman Jacqulynn Nakai was named first-team NJCAA Division II All-American on Wednesday, one day after men's player Keven Biggs earned second-team honors. 

Nakai is the seventh All-American for coach Todd Holthaus and eighth in program history, joining Sydni Stallworth (2016, 2017), Raja Moreno-Ross (2016), A’jha Edwards (2013), Deanna Daniels (2011), Tia Morrison (2009, 2010), Abyee Maracigan (2009, 2010), Jessie Ingraham (2008) and Latrina Bennett (1994).

Nakai is the first Pima women’s basketball player to be selected to the 2018 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches’ All-American list. She was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Year as well as first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. She also earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on four occasions this season.

Nakai led the Aztecs with 17.3 points and 6.7 assists per game. She also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

With Nakai leading the way, Pima went 23-9 overall and 16-6 in ACCAC play, and advanced to the Region I, Division II final for the ninth time in the last 10 years.
