During 16 months between June 2014and Oct. 2015, Tucson police ran 26,000 immigration checks related to SB 1070.

The state law requires local police to check the immigration status of anyone they stop if they become suspicious that person may be in the country illegally.

In total, Border Patrol took custody of 83 people.

The heat map below shows where those stops occurred, with yellow areas showing the strongest concentration of those arrests.
