Iran has launched more attacks on Israel and Gulf countries while more than a week of heavy U.S. and Israeli bombardment continues. Iranian state TV announced early Monday that Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has been named supreme leader in defiance of threats by U.S. President Donald Trump. Oil prices skyrocketed following the announcement, with Iran strangling the movement of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the U.S. is well on its way to destroying Iran’s ability to make and launch ballistic missiles. And Saudi Arabia is warning Tehran it would be the “biggest loser” if it continues to attack Arab states.
