Arizona's Jaden Bradley was named one of five finalists for the Naismith's Bob Cousy Award that honors the top point guard in college basketball.
The Naismith's move was a reversal for Bradley, who was not among the 20 point guards named to a preseason watch list for the Cousy Award.
After Bradley had 27 points and five assists to lead UA over Florida in its Nov. 3 season opener, UA coach Tommy Lloyd asked during his postgame press conference address, “How in the world do they not have Jaden Bradley as one of the top 20 point guard in the country?”
Bradley’s clutch play and ability to get to the free-throw line also led the Wildcats to wins over UCLA and UConn early in the season, among other games, though his primary role has been playmaking and leadership while UA freshmen Brayden Burries (16.0) and Koa Peat (13.8) have become the team’s leading scorers.
Bradley has averaged 13.4 points and 4.6 assists in both Big 12 games and overall. In conference games, he ranks 11th in assists, eighth in assist-turnover ratio (2.6) and seventh in steals (1.6).
Arizona guard Jaden Bradley (0) looks for the pass as he dribbles down the court during a game against Norfolk State at McKale Center, Nov. 29, 2025.
“No one's been a more consistent performer in the country than Jaden,” UA coach Tommy Lloyd said recently.
Other finalists for the Cousy award included Houston's Kingston Flemings, Arkansas' Darius Acuff, Michigan State's Jeremy Fears and Purdue's Braden Smith.
