The University of Arizona baseball team salvaged a win on its trip to Northern California, beating host Sacramento State 5-2 on Monday night.

UA had been swept over the weekend by California, losing by a combined 37-20.

The Wildcats took charge early Monday, scoring all their runs in the first five innings.

All of Arizona’s runs came via the long ball. Nick Quintana homered in the second to put Arizona up 1-0, and Cameron Cannon hit a two-run blast an inning later to make it 3-0.

Matt Fraizer wrapped up the scoring for the Wildcats with a two-run homer in the fourth to make it 5-1.

Starter Zach Stone earned the win, allowing one run on three hits in four innings.

The Wildcats (30-20, 10-14 Pac-12) will play in their final home series of the year against Arizona State (20-28, 11-13) starting at 6 p.m. Thursday in a game that will air on Pac-12 Arizona.
