Arizona Wildcats forward Deandre Ayton (13) waits for the ball to be inbounded in the second half during a game at McKale Center on November 10, 2017. Arizona won 101-67.

In what will probably be his last game at McKale Center, Deandre Ayton set the new all-time Arizona freshman scoring record during the first half against California.Β

Ayton surpassed Jerryd Bayless, who set the record in 2008 with 592 points.

Heading into Saturday's game, Ayton had 590 points, but recorded 14 points in the first half against Cal.

Ayton reached 600 points on the season and became the 19th player in program history to hit that mark, and the second center to do so since Jordan Hill during the 2008-09 season, per All Sports Tucson's Javier Morales.Β

Not too shabby of a season for Ayton.Β
