The University of Arizona baseball team suffered a one-run loss for the second straight day at the Pac-12/Big 10 Challenge, losing 4-3 to Illinois in Minneapolis on Saturday.

Illinois drew five walks for the game, with four of those coming in the top of eighth inning when it scored the go-ahead run. Bren Spillane drew a walk from UA pitcher Jonathan Guardado with the bases loaded to give the Fighting Illini (5-3) a 4-3 lead.

Alfonso Rivas and Ryan Haug each had two hits for UA, which has lost three of four games and fell to 5-5 on the season. Rivas tripled in Cal Stevenson in the sixth to tie the game at 2, and Nick Quintana followed with an RBI single to score Rivas and put Arizona up 3-2.

Gil Luna (0-1) took the loss for the Wildcats. Starter Avery Weems allowed two runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.

UA wraps up play at the event with a game against Michigan State at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The Wildcats will then return home to face San Diego State at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hi Corbett Field.
