Los Angeles point guard Brandon Williams announced he is reopening his recruitment and decommitting from the Arizona Wildcats due to the "current climate" around the program.

Williams' father, Chris Wright, said via text message that his son did not want to do any interviews at this time.
"Very tough decision for him to make," Wright said.
Williams was the last remaining player in the Wildcats' class of 2018, after Shareef O'Neal decommitted in the wake of ESPN's report that UA coach Sean Miller allegedly discussed paying Deandre Ayton $100,000. O'Neal has since committed to UCLA.
Both Williams and O'Neal signed non-binding scholarship papers with Arizona in November, allowing them to easily back out at any time.
While making a videotaped statement, UA coach Sean Miller vehemently denied ESPN's report and UA officials determined he would remain the Wildcats' head coach.
Williams said he would continue to consider the Wildcats in his re-opened recruitment.
"I am NOT closing the door on Wildcat basketball and wish nothing but the best for coach Miller and the Arizona basketball program moving forward," Williams said in his statement on Twitter.
