Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd has lined up another one of his former Team USA players to join the Wildcats next season, with 247 and ESPN reporting the Washington transfer point guard JJ Mandaquit will transfer to Arizona.

Mandaquit, once a high school recruiting target of Arizona's out of Hawaii via Utah Prep, started six of 22 games for the Huskies last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury.

Averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 assists for the Huskies, Mandaquit is known as a true point who excels around elite talent, a reason why he was picked for USA Basketball teams over the previous three summers.

Mandaquit has won three gold medals while playing with incoming UA freshman Caleb Holt, UA forward Koa Peat and BYU forward AJ Dybantsa on those USA teams, first in the 2023 U16 Americas Championship, then the 2024 U17 World Cup and the U19 World Cup last summer.

For the Lloyd-coached USA U19 team last summer, Mandaquit averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 assists while shooting 35.3% from 3-point range and posting a 3.8-1 assist-turnover ratio.

In the 2024 FIBA World Cup in Turkey, Mandaquit averaged 6.6 points, 6.1 assists and shot 21.3% from 3 while he averaged 3.7 points and 2.7 assists in the 2023 Americas Championship.

A native of Hilo, Hawaii, Mandaquit played his freshman season of high school at Iolani on Oahu, then transferred to Utah Prep, where he spent his senior season of 2-24-25 playing alongside AJ Dybantsa.

Arizona transfer JJ Mandaquit played under UA coach Tommy Lloyd last summer with USA Basketball in the FIBA U19 World Cup.
