Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton said he was "clueless" why his name popped up in allegations that a family friend received $15,000 from an Adidas rep while in high school.

Ex-Adidas rep T.J. Gassnola testified that he paid a family friend of Ayton $15,000 in order to help establish a relationship that might lead to Ayton playing for a school sponsored by Adidas. Ayton chose to play for Arizona, which is sponsored by Nike.

"On that, I am so clueless on that," Ayton said, in video captured by Phoenix's 12News. "I don’t know why my name is in that. My family has been supportive of me my whole career and I don’t think they’d do anything like that. But I just know my main goal right now is my first game as an NBA player is Wednesday coming up and I’m ready."
