Arizona women's basketball general manager Michelle Marciniak is stepping away from the program.
Marciniak made the announcement Friday, two days after the Wildcats were eliminated from the Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament in Kansas City by Arizona State.

A WNBA vet, Marciniak is returning home to Knoxville, Tennessee, to be with her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
"I’m incredibly grateful for my time at the University of Arizona," she said on social media. "I want to sincerely thank athletics director Desireé Reed-Francois and her entire leadership team for their trust, support and exemplary leadership. It was an honor to work alongside such dedicated colleagues who care deeply about student-athletes and the future of Arizona Athletics.
Arizona women's basketball head coach Becky Burke, center, works with GM Michelle Marciniak, right, on Jan. 20, 2026, at McKale Center.
"I’m also thankful to Coach Becky Burke for trusting me with a role that is still evolving in collegiate athletics. Building together with her, the staff and our players has been a truly special experience and I’m proud to be a part of laying the foundation for the new era of Arizona WBB."
Marciniak previously served as an assistant coach at South Carolina, where Burke was one of her recruits.
The UA on Thursday posted a job listing for three assistant women’s basketball coaches. It’s unclear exactly how Burke’s staff will be reshaped.
