Arizona captain Chase Jeter prepped to lead Wildcats, frontcourt in 2019
The Duke transfer was announced as Arizona's team captain on Monday.
Next chapter for UA's big man
Updated
The depth of Arizona's frontcourt is slim, which is why 6-foot-10 redshirt junior Chase Jeter could be the Wildcats' x-factor heading into the season.
Sean Miller certainly believes so as he named the Duke transfer UA's team captain along with graduate transfer point guard Justin Coleman for the 2019 season.
Jeter, a Las Vegas native, transferred from Duke prior to last season and was forced to sit out for a year, per transfer rules. Jeter was a part of the 2015 recruiting class and selected the Blue Devils over UA, but the Wildcats were a close second.
While he did play some minutes at center at Duke, Jeter primarily played power forward. At Arizona, he will most likely be the starting center of a frontcourt that includes 6-foot-9 Ryan Luther, and three 6-foot-7 players in Ira Lee, Omar Thielemans and Emmanuel Akot.
The Wildcaster caught up with Jeter this week to discuss Arizona's roster, his obsession for the video game Fortnite and living in Tucson.
