Deandre Ayton made one of four regional Sports Illustrated covers.

While calling him the "Arizona Post Beast," Sports Illustrated put Arizona's Deandre Ayton on one of its four regional March Madness preview covers.

Jeremy Woo's accompanying story is a nice blend of background on Ayton, perspective on his abilities, and the odd times that are now for the Arizona basketball program.

"I've been hearing I have no motor," Ayton told SI. "No motor? I don't know what that even means. I'm playing my heart out. This thing has just been bugging me."

The three other SI covers feature Devonte' Graham of Kansas, Isaiah Wilkins of Virginia, and Jaren Jackson Jr. of Michigan State.

ASU is hoping to rediscover some luck in Las Vegas, where the Sun Devils beat Xavier in what may seem like a long time ago.

ASU will be playing Colorado at 1 p.m. today for the right to face Arizona in Thursday's Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinals, but the Buffs have never lost a first-round Pac-12 Tournament game (and are the only team to have made the four-wins-in-four-days trek to a title).

All of the first-round Pac-12 Tournament games today will be carried on Pac-12 Networks. The others:

No. 5 Stanford vs. No. 12 California, 3:30 p.m.

No. 10 Oregon State vs. No. 7 Washington, 7 p.m.

No. 11 Washington State vs. No. 6 Oregon, 9:30 p.m.

Here's the conference's tournament notes and stats.

The NCAA selection committee is planning to announce all 68 teams before announcing brackets on its show Sunday, a move that is generating some criticism.
