Kadeem Allen has shuttled between the Boston Celtics and the G League’s Maine Red Claws as a designated two-way player.Β

Former Arizona guard Kadeem Allen tied the G-League season-high in scoring by dropping 46 points on the Long Island NetsΒ Tuesday while playing for the Maine Red Claws.

Allen, a two-way player for the Celtics, was 16 for 29 from the field including 5 of 9 3-pointers. Video highlights of his game are attached to this post.

Dusan Ristic and Damon Stoudamire were impressed.

In 23 games so far for Maine, Allen has averaged 17.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Picked No. 53 by Boston in the NBA Draft last June, Allen has also appeared in three games for the Celtics, averaging a point.

In a SportsCenter interview Tuesday night, ESPN's Scott Van Pelt asked Deandre Ayton about what it's like to play for Sean Miller.

"It's great. It's fun. He's a very smart coach," Ayton said. "He always wants you to play hard. Defense is first and offense will come. He wants me to bring it every game no matter what the competition is.

Van Pelt then asked Ayton if Miller sweats more than he does during games.

"I think he would sweat more than me," Ayton said, smiling.

Ayton later said being the No. 1 pick in the June NBA Draft "would mean a lot... but first I want to win a lot of games at Arizona and then focus on the next level."

Colorado coach Tad Boyle says the Wildcats are "going to be obviously loaded for bear" after what happened on Jan. 6 in Boulder.

Among other issues the Buffs will face, Boyle said, is that Arizona plays even faster at McKale Center.
