Arizona wing Rawle Alkins will not play again Saturday against Utah because of continued soreness in his surgically repaired right foot.
The school said on Twitter that Alkins will not play again because of "minor" pain in his foot, meaning Alkins will not play for the third time in the Wildcats' past four games.
Alkins sat out on Jan. 17 at Cal, then returned on Jan. 20 to play 34 minutes at Stanford but experienced more soreness this week and was held out of Thursday's UA-Colorado game.
After the Colorado game, UA coach Sean Miller said Alkins would only play against Utah if he had no soreness when pressure was applied to the foot.
ICYMI, we addressed the possibility that UA may have to deal with Alkins carefully the rest of the season now that complications have surfaced following his Sept. 27 surgery and subsequent comeback for 10 games so far.
