Chance Comanche's decision to leave Arizona early may pay off after all.
Comanche made the opening night roster of the G League's Memphis Hustle, giving him a chance to develop and work toward a possible NBA career even after he was not taken in the 2017 NBA Draft nor offered a summer-league contract.

Comanche left UA last spring after averaging 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds. He averaged 18.1 minutes and likely would have faced a stiff challenge getting more time than that this season, with Deandre Ayton and Ira Lee having joined the frontcourt, while Dusan Ristic and Keanu Pinder returned.
Auburn is sitting out two players in the wake of the federal investigation into college basketball.
Arizona has played all its healthy scholarship players Wednesday, and UA coach Sean Miller declined to say if any of his players might be held out as a result of the ongoing investigations.
NCAA rules dictate that schools must withhold players who have become ineligible under its bylaws, or acknowledged to have been in violation of recruiting standards, and can then appeal for reinstatement.
The federal complaint that resulted in the arrest of Auburn's Chuck Person, UA's Book Richardson and eight others quoted a sports agent saying a current UA player has already been paid, which could result in that player becoming ineligible if proven to be true.
