Josh Green played with Deandre Ayton at Phoenix Hillcrest Prep.

Five-star guard Josh Green said Wednesday on Twitter that he will announce his college choice Thursday, and 247 Sports analysts Josh Gershon and Evan Daniels say he'll pick Arizona.

A longtime UA target from Australia now playing for Florida's IMG Academy, Green is deciding among a top six of Arizona, North Carolina, UNLV, Villanova, Kansas and USC. He is scheduled to visit Arizona for the Oct. 14 Red-Blue Game.

Before Green's tweet, the vast majority of analysts weighing in on 247 Sports' Crystal BallΒ said Green would choose North Carolina. But Gershon, Daniels and Wildcat Authority's Jason Scheer said Green will now choose Arizona, tilting the picks toward the Wildcats.

Several factors could be helping Arizona's case. Green played with Deandre Ayton at Phoenix Hillcrest Prep in 2016-17, and spent the past two summers playing with UA commit Nico Mannion on the West Coast Elite travel team. Green's family also now lives in Phoenix.

Junior college forward Khalid Thomas, a UA recruiting target who was expected to visit Tucson this weekend, committed instead to Texas Tech.

Thomas told the Oregonian he didn't think he'd find a better fit, so he canceled the rest of his scheduled visits.

Another Arizona recruiting target playing for the West Coast Elite, 2021 center Nate Bittle of Oregon, has also received an offer from Oregon State. It's early for him but Oregon is believed to be the leader.

Drew Timme is taking an official visit to Gonzaga this weekend.

Former Adidas rep Merl Code said in court that "Nike schools pay, too" in the college basketball trial at New York. Arizona and Oregon were mentioned prominently in court Tuesday.
