Philadelphia 76ers point guard and former Arizona Wildcat T.J. McConnell never had a triple-double in his career at the UA or in his first two and a half seasons in the NBA, but that drought ended on Monday.Β 

In the 108-92 win over the New York Knicks, McConnell filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and 6 steals.Β 

Per Sixers beat writer Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com, McConnell is the only player in the NBA this season to rack up 10 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and 6 steals in a game. And he also became the first player in franchise history to record a triple-double off the bench.

Β Known for his vision and orchestrating a fluid offense, McConnell displayed just that in the win over the Knicks.Β 

Naturally, his teammates Joel Embiid and Robert Covington doused him with water during the postgame interview.Β 

So far this season, McConnell has averaged 7.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.3 assists per game and has been a spark off the bench for a surging Sixers team that could see a spot in the playoffs. Currently, Philadelphia is seventh in the East and has one more game on tap against the Miami Heat before All-Star break.
