The sliver of hope No. 15 Arizona had for a spot in the Pac-12 championship went out the window after No. 6 Oregon defeated rival No. 16 Oregon State 31-7 Friday night in Eugene.

Arizona needed the Beavers to beat the Ducks on Friday along with a win over in-state rival Arizona State on Saturday in Tempe to secure a bid for the conference title game on Dec. 1 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.Β 

With Oregon winning the last matchup between the two schools as Pac-12 opponents, the Ducks will meet up with No. 4 Washington for the final Pac-12 championship. Oregon leads the conference with six all-time appearances in the Pac-12 championship.Β 

Oregon and Washington rematch after the Huskies' 36-33 win over the Ducks in October. Next week's battle will feature two Heisman Trophy-contending quarterbacks Bo Nix (Oregon) and Michael Penix Jr. (Washington).Β 

No. 15 Arizona (8-3) will face Arizona State (3-8) at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN.Β
