Arizona senior pass rusher DeAndre’ Miller – whose health is considered critical to the Wildcats’ defensive success – sustained a foot injury last week.
The severity of Miller’s injury is not known, but it will prevent him from attending Pac-12 Media Days this week. The event is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in Hollywood, California. Senior defensive lineman Luca Bruno will replace Miller.
Miller, the projected starter at the hybrid “Stud” position, has been hampered by injuries throughout his UA career. He appeared in nine games last season but was slowed by a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 3 against Hawaii. Miller recorded just five tackles in his remaining six appearances.
Miller missed two games the previous season and had to redshirt in 2014 after three games.
Whether Miller misses any time this year remains to be seen. Arizona is set to open training camp next Monday.
Miller has 79 tackles, including 14 for losses, in 36 career games.
