Before Tuesday, there were two Arizona commits remaining known to be considering other programs.ย
By nightfall, both re-affirmed their commitments to Arizona. The latest: safety Troy Young, who told AL.com that he'd be signing with the Wildcats on Wednesday. Young was believed to be considering flipping his recruitment to Alabama-Birmingham. Earlier on Tuesday, defensive end Jalen Harris announced he'd be signing with Arizona, despite a push from Notre Dame.
Young, a three-star recruit, is from Mobile, Alabama.ย
"I feel like Arizona is just the right fit for me," Young told AL.com. "I liked the coaches, the other players, the recruits who will be in my class. It's the place for me. I've been committed to them since the beginning of the season, and that is where I'm going."
Arizona fended off late interest in Young from not only UAB, but also Western Kentucky, South Alabama, Troy and others. Young has visited UAB and Western Kentucky in recent weeks.ย
Young also told AL.com that he "came pretty close" to flipping, but in the end realized he "made the right choice" with Arizona.
Arizona isn't expected to lose any of its 26 committed players on Wednesday, though with recruiting, anything is certainly possible.
The Wildcats also might add a couple players, with candidates including Los Angeles defensive linemanย Chris Greenย and running backย Gary Brightwell, a Delaware native committed to Temple. Arizona will also likely pursue some graduate transfers.
