Just moments after taking down Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and former Arizona Wildcat Nick Foles was named Super Bowl 52 most valuable player.Β

Foles became the the first ex-UA quarterback to not only win the Super Bowl, but also be named the MVP.

On Sunday, Foles went 28 of 43 passing for 373 yards and three touchdowns along with one touchdown reception from the first half.Β

Despite 505 yards from Brady, Foles and the Eagles made the least amount of mistakes, particularly in the fourth quarter. And when the game was on the line as the Eagles trailed 33-32, it was Foles that led Philadelphia down the field capped off by a touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz.Β

To think at one point this season, Foles was just considered a backup to regular season MVP candidate Carson Wentz. Foles took over the starting role in December when Wentz went down with a torn ACL injury. Since then, Foles only lost one game and led the Eagles to their first ever Super Bowl in franchise history.
