Watch: 9 best things Arizona Wildcats said after routing Oregon
Highlights from Arizona's post-Oregon press conference.
Wildcats stun Oregon in Tucson
UpdatedFrom kickoff until the clocks hit zeros to end the game, Arizona didn't let up on No. 19 Oregon. During homecoming weekend, the Wildcats ended their two-game losing skid by routing the Ducks 44-15.
Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate returned to the lineup after being held out last week against UCLA while nursing a lingering ankle injury. Tate completed 19 of 33 passes for 189 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Sophomore J.J. Taylor became the first Arizona running back since Nick Wilson in 2014 to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season, after running for 212 and two touchdowns on Saturday.
Taylor's highlight moment was a leaping touchdown, reminiscent of former UA quarterback Ortege Jenkins' "Leap by the Lake" score against Washington in 1998.
UA led Oregon in total offense 465 yards to 270, and held the Ducks to 3 of 16 on third-down conversions. Arizona's defense held Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert to 24 of 48 passing for 186 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Now Arizona (4-5, 3-3 Pac-12) will turn around for a short week against Colorado on Friday. Tate, Taylor, coach Kevin Sumlin and linebacker Colin Schooler spoke during the postgame press conference following the win.
