Malia Martinez and Taylor McQuillin made sure the University of Arizona softball team left Texas with a series victory.

Martinez went 4 for 4 with a double and homer, and McQuillin tossed six scoreless innings as the No. 9 Wildcats beat the host Longhorns 10-2 Sunday in the rubber game. The UA won 2-0 Friday and lost 3-1 Saturday.

Martinez’s two-run homer in the second opened the scoring and came just before a 48-minute rain delay.

McQuillin (11-1) allowed only two hits in six innings and has allowed two or fewer hits in her last 10 games. She has allowed one run over her last 50Βͺ innings.

Alyssa Palomino added two doubles for the Wildcats (15-2), who had a 13-game winning streak snapped Saturday.

The Wildcats host South Dakota at 6 p.m. Thursday as part of the Wildcat Invitational.

San Diego, USC Upstate and Wisconsin will also compete in the four-day event.
