The accolades continue to pile up for Arizona softball pitcher Devyn Netz, who was named one of 25 finalists for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Earlier this week, she was named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week and in late April, Netz received a βgolden ticketβ from the Athletes Unlimited Softball League, which will hold its inaugural college draft on Saturday, May 3.

The USA Softball award is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I womenβs college softball. The finalists will be narrowed down to 10 on May 14 and then to three on May 19. The winner will be named before the Womenβs College World Series.
The announcement comes ahead of the Wildcatsβ road series against Houston, which runs Friday, May 2, through Sunday, May 4, to close out the regular season.
Netz is hitting .359 and leads the Wildcats in home runs (17), RBIs (58), wins (19) and strikeouts (98), according to an Arizona Athletics news release. She ranks ninth in the NCAA in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.44) and walks allowed per seven innings (1.00) and she also ranks 18th in the nation in wins. Her RBI total ranks 22nd and her home runs ranks 24th in the nation.
Defensively, Netz has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and has assisted on 15 double plays.
