Further proof that Dane Cruikshank is a legitimate NFL prospect just arrived in his inbox.

The Arizona Wildcats safety revealed late Sunday that he received an invitation to participate in the 2018 Scouting Combine.

“Crazy,” Cruikshank tweeted. “As a kid I would watch the NFL Combine every year. Thank you, God, for giving me this opportunity.”

Cruikshank shifted from cornerback to safety this past season and put himself on the NFL’s radar. In his second and final season at Arizona, Cruikshank accumulated 75 tackles; 5.5 stops for losses, including 1.5 sacks; three interceptions; five pass breakups; and one forced fumble.

Cruikshank is the first UA player to attend the Combine since Scooby Wright in 2016. This year’s Combine workouts are scheduled for March 2-5.

First, Cruikshank will participate in the East-West Shrine Game, along with UA teammate Jacob Alsadek. Another offensive lineman, Gerhard de Beer, has been invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Both all-star showcases are scheduled for Jan. 20.

Tailback Nick Wilson also will get looks from NFL scouts.
