A celebration of life for Pima College women's basketball assistant coach Bruce Fleck will take place 11 a.m. Saturday at the school's west campus gym.

Fleck died in his sleep at age 58 on Friday, Aztecs head coach Todd Holthaus said.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to The Bruce Fleck Scholarship Fund, 2202 W. Anklam Road, Tucson, 85709-0285.

Fleck helped lead the Aztecs to three consecutive national tournament appearances. He and Holthaus coached together for 12 years - four years at Pima and eight years at Flowing Wells High School.

"He was my first assistant. He never wanted any credit. He was the true definition of an assistant coach," Holthaus said.
