The 3M Open, the PGA Tour’s penultimate regular-season event, tees off this week at TPC Twin Cities, just outside of Minneapolis.

That means there are just two more chances for Tour pros to secure a spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs by being in the top 70 in points by the end of the regular season.

Currently on the bubble and set to tee it up this week are some big names, including Justin Thomas (75th in points), Justin Suh (76) and Cam Davis (77).

Tony Finau, ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 10th in FedEx points, is back to defend his title from last year. Finau has already won twice this season, and four times in his last 25 starts.

Finau currently has the second-best odds to win this week at +1600, according to Caesars Sportsbook.

Pick to win: Cameron Young (+1400)

It’s hard to believe Cameron Young has yet to win a PGA Tour event. But he’s sure been close.

The 26-year-old, who turned pro in 2019, is coming off a T8 at the British Open last week at Royal Liverpool and has finished in the top-10 five times this season, including solo third at the Hero World Challenge and runner-up at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Young is second on the PGA Tour in driving distance for all drives (308.2) and fourth in birdie average (4.31).

Young, ranked 15th in the world and 41st in FedEx Cup points, is super close to breaking through. This could be the week.

Top-5 pick: Sepp Straka (+550)

July has been a great month for Sepp Straka.

The 30-year-old Austrian got the first PGA Tour win of his career at the John Deere Classic and parlayed that into a T2 finish at the British Open last week in Hoylake, England.

Could the 25th-ranked golfer in the world, who is also 15th in FedEx Cup points, cap the month with another victory?

Well, if anyone is playing lights-out golf at this point in the season, it’s Straka.

Solid in all aspects of the game, Straka has five top-10s this season, including two runner-up finishes.

This will be his third time teeing it up at the 3M Open, with his best finish coming in 2020 with a T18.

Top-10 pick: Justin Thomas (+300)

Thomas ended last season ranked No. 8 in the world. He enters this week’s 3M Open ranked 24th.

That’s what happens when you don’t win for more than a year, miss the cut at three of the four majors and only finish in the top 10 three times.

Thomas is currently 75th in FedEx Cup points and needs to get into the top 70 just to qualify for the playoffs, which begin Aug. 10.

That gives Thomas, who won the FedEx Cup in 2017, two more regular-season tournaments to get where he needs to go.

Sepp Straka +2500
