Get ready for the Tucson … Sonoran Dogs? Stick Lizards? Monsoon?Β 

The name of Tucson's new American Hockey League team will be unveiled June 18 at the Tucson Convention Center. The event starts at 12:30 p.m., and will be hosted by Fox Sports Arizona reporter Jody Jackson. The event is free and open to the public. Β The Coyotes will also hold a Select-A-Seat event by appointment only for those who have made season ticket deposits from 10 a.m. to noon. The general public can select their seats for the upcoming season between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.Β 

The event will also feature a "virtual slapshot experience," time with Howler, the Coyotes' mascot and ball hockey games for kids 12 and under.Β 

The Coyotes said they received thousands of submissions in a "name the team" contest that started May 17, shortly after they purchased the Springfield (Massachusetts) Falcons and moved them to Tucson. The contest winner will be announced at the June 18 unveiling; he or she will receive Β two season tickets for the team's inaugural season, a Tucson jersey and access to a 12-person suite at an upcoming Coyotes game.Β
