Houston is ranked No. 1 in the country for the second week in a row by the Associated Press.

It’s about that time. Madness is on the way.

As the men’s college basketball season heads into March, the NCAA Tournament draws ever closer. And with it, comes the biggest question: Which teams are in and which teams are out?

Over the next two weeks, we’ll get closer to that answer with conference tournaments beginning to tip off, giving everyone a shooter’s chance at this point.

Even teams that are assured a spot in the Big Dance still have a lot to play for, trying to get the best seed possible before the 68-team field is announced March 12.

The goal, as always, is to make the Final Four, which will be played in Houston from March 31-April 3.

It’s with that in mind that FrontPageBets takes a look at the odds-on favorites to be the last four teams standing at the end of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Let’s start at the top.

For the second consecutive week the Houston Cougars are ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the latest Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll, which was released Monday afternoon. The Cougars got 49 first-place votes and entered the week with a 27-2 record.

Houston currently leads the odds board at +130 to make it to the Final Four. If the Cougars can get there, it would be their second time in three years.

Defending national champion Kansas has the second-best odds to making the Final Four at +190. The Jayhawks are currently ranked third in the nation, behind second-ranked Alabama, but received more first-place votes than the Crimson Tide.

Alabama is +200 to make it to their first-ever Final Four in program history, while Purdue, ranked No. 5, rounds out the top four on the odds boards at +240.

Kansas is the only team from last year’s Final Four that is better than 10-1 odds to make it back.

The University of North Carolina Tar Heels, who lost to the Jayhawks in the national title game last season, are on the bubble just to get into the NCAA Tournament. At the start of the final week of the regular season, UNC was eighth in the ACC.

If UNC can make the Big Dance, the Tar Heels sit at +1200 odds to make it back to the Final Four.

Remember, UNC was the preseason No. 1-ranked team and a favorite to win the 2023 championship before the season started.

Unranked Duke, which North Carolina beat in the national semifinals last season in coach Mike Krzyzewski final game, sits at +1100 odds to make it back to the Final Four. The Blue Devils entered the final regular-season week in fifth place in the ACC.

Villanova, which lost to Kansas in the other national semifinal, is +4000 to return. The Wildcats are in even more danger of not making the NCAA Tournament this year, hovering around .500 for the season and in the Big East.
