The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions. Again.
Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to their second NFL championship in the last four years by beating the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, on Sunday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
Mahomes, who was named the league MVP on Thursday night for the second time in his five-year career, also won his second Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award, throwing three touchdown passes and completing 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards against the Eagles.
Kansas City entered Super Bowl LVII as 1.5-point underdogs and didnβt have a lead until the second half. They scored on all four second-half possessions.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts turned in an MVP-worthy performance of his own, accounting for four touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Hurts rushed 15 times for 70 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 304 yards and a score.
As we head into the offseason, one question remains: Can the Chiefs repeat?
Mahomes seems to think so, saying, "We're not done," after receiving the Lombardi and MVP trophies. And the sportsbooks agree, pinning the Chiefs as the odds-on favorites to win again next year.
