After a thrilling race in Atlanta to open up the playoffs, the NASCAR Cup Series gets on the road this week in Watkins Glen, N.Y.

The Go Bowling at The Glen is the second playoff race of the 2024 season and will take place Sunday afternoon at the Watkins Glen International road course. This is the first time in WGIโ€™s history that it will host a Cup Series playoff event.

The full field will race 90 laps around the seven-turn, 2.45-mile road course with the winner clinching a spot in the next round of the playoffs. Four of the 16 drivers who qualified for the postseason will be eliminated from the championship chase next week at Bristol.

Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson all have two career victories at Watkins Glen, which are the most by any active Cup Series driver.

Elliott won back-back-to back races in 2018 and 2019, while Larson double dipped in 2021 and 2022 at The Glen.

William Byron was last yearโ€™s winner, meaning a Chevy โ€“ specifically Hendricks Motorsports โ€“ has taken the last five checkered flags at the road course.

Can they make it six in a row?

FrontPageBets takes a look at the drivers to watch in Sundayโ€™s Go Bowling at The Glen road course race at Watkins Glen International (3 p.m.; USA Network).

NASCAR Go Bowling at The Glen odds

NASCAR Go Bowling at The Glen predictions: Tyler Reddick to win (+800)

Reddick, the driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota won the regular-season Cup championship and is looking for more. And road courses are in his wheelhouse.

Three of his seven career Cup victories have come on road courses. Heโ€™s finished in the top five in each road race this season, including second on the downtown streets of Chicago.

Reddick has three top-10s in three career starts at Watkins Glen.

Watkins Glen NASCAR picks: Shane van Gisbergen top 5 (+110)

The road-course specialist will be competing in just his 10th Cup start, but he already has one win and two top-10s, all on road courses.

He won the inaugural Chicago street race last.

Driving the Kaulig Racing Chevy this weekend, the three-time Supercar champion is one to keep an eye on.

NASCAR longshot picks for Go Bowling at The Glen: Kyle Busch (+2000)

Winless this season and not part of the playoffs, Busch is still a formidable threat, especially on a track where heโ€™s driven to Victory Lane twice in his career.

This year on road courses, Busch has two top-10 finishes and has finished in the top seven in his last four Cup races, including back-to-back runnerups at Daytona and Darlington.

The driver of the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy also has 13 top-10s, including seven top-5 finishes in 18 career starts at The Glen.
