With only Vincent Taylor being claimed on waivers, the Bills should be able to build their practice squad with the players whom they want to retain from among their cuts Saturday. But the Bills also could be looking to add players from elsewhere.

Teams can have a maximum of 16 players on the practice squad, up from 10, with six players able to have unlimited experience. (The Bills can have 17 with an exemption for Christian Wade through the NFL's international development program.)

In the initial listing provided by the Bills, all 17 players were with the Bills in training camp.

Quarterback Davis Webb

Defensive end Bryan Cox Jr.

Wide receiver Duke Williams

Cornerback Cam Lewis

Defensive end Mike Love

Running back Antonio Williams

Safety Josh Thomas

Offensive lineman Brandon Walton

Defensive tackle Justin Zimmer

Tight end Nate Becker

Tight end Jason Croom

Offensive tackle Trey Adams

Offensive lineman Evan Boehm

Offensive tackle Victor Salako

Linebacker Andre Smith

Cornerback Dane Jackson

Running back Christian Wade

The initial list did not have two players who were reportedly signing with the Bills. They could be added after the players go through Covid-19 protocols and potentially be on the field when the Bills begin their game-week preparations Wednesday.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Bills will sign former Packers wide receiver Jake Kumerow, who played in 19 games with six starts in the last two seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He had 20 receptions for 322 yards and two touchdowns.

Kumerow is a capable depth receiver who went to Illinois, then was a huge Division III star for current UB coach Lance Leipold at Whitewater.

He was nicknamed "Touchdown Jesus," by Packers fans, thanks to his long brown hair and full beard, after he scored a pair of long touchdowns with the Packers in the 2018 preseason.

"I love his reliability," Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "He's a fantastic, steady player, who is very heady player on the field. He makes plays. He plays with a lot of confidence."

The Packers are signing former Bills receiver Robert Foster to their practice squad

Another new name added is former Giants defensive lineman Chris Slayton, according to NFL Draft Diamonds. Slayton, listed at 6-4 and 309, is returning to upstate New York after his college career at Syracuse. He was a seventh-round pick in 2019 who spent most of the season on the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster for the regular season finale.

With Vincent Taylor getting claimed by the Browns and the Bills opting not to add Tanzal Smart, Slayton could provide an added player at defensive tackle.
