UA coach Sean Miller said he spent about an hour total on his ballot, saying voting was tough because of the competitiveness up and down the league this season.

Miller said he chose Oregon's Dana Altman as coach of the year in part because of the Ducks' regular-season championship, and that he put down Utah's Jakob Poeltl and Oregon's Dillon Brooks as his two player of the year choices (Miller declined to say which one he put in the top spot).

"One thing that’s apparent when you fill out your ballot this year is there’s a lot of deserving players," Miller said. "There’s 15 who make it first and second team, and I’m glad there’s 15 because if you stopped at 10 there would be some really special college players who didn't make the conference team."

Unlike the Pac-12 Player of the Week award, which York won earlier today, the postseason awards are voted on by the league's coaches, who cannot vote for players on their own teams.

During his weekly news conference today -- which happened after the player of the week award was announced but before the postseason honors came out -- Miller said York earned his Player of the Week award.

"Especially with the way he played at the end of the game against Cal," Miller said. "He put us on his shoulders. Rescued us from the dead. Made timely big shots. You always hope your best players, best perimeter players, best shooters make plays when it counts and in Gabe’s case all of those things are true.

"And to follow it up with the complete game that he had against Stanford -- one o the great shooting performances I've seen -- is quite an achievement. I’m glad he was able to do it. That gives us three different players winning it -- Gabe, Allonzo and Ryan --  and in this conference, this year with so many talented players and great performances, it says a lot about those guys and our team as well."
