Lewis-Clark’s Grayson Hunt (11), left, and Arizona's Henri Veesaar (13) pursue the ball Veesaar poked loose in the second half of the Wildcats' Oct. 20 exhibition victory at McKale Center.

Arizona said sophomore forward Henri Veesaar is out indefinitely with a right elbow injury, likely shelving him into the regular season.

Veesaar and wing Pelle Larsson (unspecified ankle/foot injury) will miss the Wildcats' exhibition on Monday against New Mexico Highlands while centers Oumar Ballo and Motiejus Krivas have returned from injuries that kept them out in UA's Oct. 20 exhibition against Lewis-Clark State.

UA did not specify the injury or a timetable for Veesaar’s return and UA coach Tommy Lloyd offered little when asked after Monday's game if Veesaar was hurt by a golf cart during a team golf outing last weekend.

β€œYeah, I’m not going to comment on any of the specifics of it,” Lloyd said. β€œBut, yeah, it was kind of an unfortunate thing off the court and luckily, it turned out that it’s gonna be OK.”

Veesaar watched the game with a sling around his right elbow, while he joined Larsson in wearing sweats to the event.

Veesaar, who wore a sling over his right elbow at Monday's game, had just recovered fully from ankle sprains he suffered while playing for his native Estonia in the FIBA U20 European Championships over the summer but his injury over the weekend is expected to keep him out at least several games into the regular season.

While Veesaar fell out of UA's playing rotation last season, he has been expected to compete for a role in the frontcourt this season. He averaged 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds while playing in 29 of UA's 35 games.
