Arizona’s Kylan Boswell (4) leaves the court smiling with his teammates after the Wildcats beat Oregon 103-83 at the McKale Memorial Center, March 2, 2024.

Arizona rose one spot to No. 5 in the Associated Press Top 25 on Monday, and the Wildcats appear to be in a close battle with Tennessee for the final No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed with a week left in the regular season.

The Volunteers remained in the No. 4 spot in the AP Top 25 poll and are the West's No. 1 seed in CBS' latest bracket projection. But the Wildcats are No. 4 in the NET, Kenpom and Torvik, while ESPN projected them as the West's No. 1 pick before they beat Oregon on Saturday.Β Bracket Matrix projections collectively also rates them as the last No. 1 seed.

Meanwhile, Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy says he doesn't trust Arizona to reach its home-state Final Four.

At the top of the AP poll, Purdue flip-flopped with UConn, with the Boilermakers dropping to No. 3 and UConn edging them out by three points to take the No. 2 spot behind top-ranked Houston.

Among other UA opponents this season, Duke rose one spot to No. 9, Alabama dropped from 14th to 16th and Washington State rose from 19th to 18th.

Of the major bracket projections, ESPN has only Arizona and WSU coming out of the Pac-12 while CBS has Utah and Colorado in as two of the last teams in the field.

FWIW, this was my AP ballot.Β
