Five-star 2025 Dutch forward Dwayne Aristode set an announcement for Sunday, with predictions still pointing toward him choosing the Arizona Wildcats.
Also considering Duke, USC, Michigan State and the NBL,Β Aristode drew a "Crystal Ball" pick to Arizona from historically accurate 247 analyst Travis Branham. As of Saturday evening,Β On3's prediction machine forecasted a 91.8% chance of him choosing the Wildcats.
In a story for 247 on Friday, Branham also wrote that the commitment of Cameron and Cayden Boozer to Duke improved Arizona's chances with both Aristode and five-star forward Koa Peat of Gilbert Perry High School.
"With Cameron Boozer taking one frontcourt spot at Duke, the already small likelihood of Duke landing Aristode is now likely all gone," Branham wrote, but later adding that "Arizona still needs to hold off USC from swooping with his decision nearing."
A 6-8, 215-pound forward now playing for Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, Aristode previously played for the same Juventut Badalona youth club that UA sophomore guard Conrad Martinez was on before joining Arizona last season. Aristode averaged 15.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists while playing for Netherlands in the FIBA U16 European ChampionshipΒ in 2022.
UA freshman Dwayne Aristode, shown playing for the Netherlandsβ U16 team in 2022, spent time with his countryβs national team in the summer of 2024 while also playing on the EYBL circuit.
Aristode spent the past summer playing on the EYBL circuit and for the Netherlands national team. According to PDT, he had 10 rebounds and hit two 3-pointers to help Netherlands beat Belgium.
At the EYBL's Peach Jam in July, Aristode spoke highly of UA coach Tommy Lloyd's international recruiting efforts in a Zagsblog interview.Β
βI think he has the ability to make a relationship with them and understand where they come from,β Aristode said. βItβs not a different mentality, but just a different way they see some certain things, in basketball and also in life. So I think him knowing that makes his relationship closer with European players. Knowing that when they come to the states, itβs like a different view of life. He knows that.β
While Aristode is originally from Amsterdam, Zagsblog said his father played for Montana State and the Ivory Coast national team.
Arizona does not yet have a commitment from the 2025 recruiting class.
