Arizona added another defensive lineman via the transfer portal Friday when former Tennessee-Martin starter Deshawn McKnight committed to the Wildcats.

McKnight had 21 tackles and four sacks in 14 games for the Skyhawks this past season. He played the previous two seasons at Appalachian State, where he had 24 tackles in 22 contests.

UT Martin lists McKnight at 6-3, 285 pounds. He was a three-star recruit as a linebacker coming out of Sumter, South Carolina, in the class of 2021.

McKnight is the second defensive lineman to join Arizona’s 2025 transfer class. Northwestern State defensive end Chancellor Owens committed to Arizona earlier in the week.

The UA had nine confirmed incoming transfers as of Friday afternoon, a number that could double in the coming days and weeks. Arizona stands to lose as many as 28 players who’ve entered the portal.
