Arizona is a finalist to land four-star 2026 quarterback Oscar Rios, he announced on Tuesday.
Rios will choose between the Wildcats and UCLA on Friday, June 27. Oklahoma State and Kentucky heavily recruited Rios until the quarterback trimmed his finalists to two schools.
Rios took official visits to both Arizona and UCLA earlier this month. Rios was in Tucson for his official visit on Friday.
Four-star quarterback Oscar Rios, a senior at Downey High School in California, picked the Arizona Wildcats over the UCLA Bruins.
The 6-3, 175-pound Rios is rated by 247Sports.com as the 10th-best quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Rios is currently at the “Elite 11” quarterback camp in Los Angeles.
Rios is entering his senior season at Downey High School, where he is 23-7 over three years. He has completed 347 of 532 passes (65.2%) for 5,909 yards, 53 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his high school career. Rios has also rushed for 1,640 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Last season, he was named Gateway League MVP after passing for 2,554 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, while rushing for 735 yards and 11 touchdowns.
If Rios commits to Arizona, he could become the first Southern California quarterback to sign with the Wildcats since current starter Noah Fifita in 2022.
Arizona currently has 12 commits for its 2026 recruiting class. The Wildcats don’t have a quarterback commit for 2026.
