Former Arizona linebacker Jacob Manu is reuniting with his former head coach.

The Wildcats’ leading tackler in 2023 is transferring to Washington, where he will play for Jedd Fisch, who recruited him and three of his ex-teammates from Servite High School in Anaheim, California. On3.com and 247Sports first reported Manu’s transfer Friday afternoon.

Arizona linebacker Jacob Manu (5) indicates a turnover on downs after the Wildcat defense swarmed Northern Arizona running back Darvon Hubbard (23) in the first quarter on Aug. 31 at Arizona Stadium.

Manu earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors in ‘23 as a sophomore, when he notched 116 tackles and 6.5 sacks for the 10-3 Wildcats. He finished the ‘24 season with 47 tackles in seven games, missing the final five contests after injuring his knee against Colorado.

Manu came to Arizona as the least heralded of the “Servite Four” in the class of 2022. Quarterback Noah Fifita is the only one left. Receiver Tetairoa McMillan declared for the NFL Draft, and tight end Keyan Burnett announced earlier Friday that he’s transferring to Kansas.

Manu completed his UA career with 217 tackles, 7.5 sacks and seven passes defensed in 32 games.

Two of his defensive teammates at Arizona, safeties Dalton Johnson and Genesis Smith, withdrew from the portal earlier in the week.
